The Beaches
From lively shores with tavernas to hidden coves of absolute silence — Ammouliani's coastline has a beach for every mood.
Alikes
The most popular beach on the island, located on the southwest coast with stunning views of the Sithonia peninsula. Its light yellow sand makes the sea glow bright blue. In summer, beach cafés line the shore with sunbeds and parasols — perfect for a full day of relaxation.
Megali Ammos
The most scenic beach of Ammouliani, famous for its mesmerizing contrasting light and dark blue strips in the sea. The southernmost beach offers golden coarse sand, views of the Drenia islets, a beach taverna, and a beach bar with shaded parking under pine trees.
Karagatsia
Nestled in a sheltered cove on the northwest coast, surrounded by two lush green hills and elm trees (karagatsia in Greek). The beach is entirely sandy, though the water is deeper near shore. Its wind-sheltered position makes it ideal for calm swimming.
Banana Beach
A charming beach with a popular beach bar. It features coarse yellow sand with tiny pebbles on the seabed. The water is shallow and incredibly calm — no waves at all — making it a peaceful retreat.
Kalopigado
A unique beach offering a natural spa experience. The fine sand is mixed with dark clay near the shore — apply it wet on your skin, let it dry in the sun, then wash it off in the sea for silky-smooth skin. Very shallow water makes it perfect for toddlers and shell collectors.
Agios Georgios
Named after Saint George, this eastern coast gem sits right next to Megali Ammos and shares its golden sand and transparent blue water with views of Drenia. Two beach bars and a taverna keep you well fed. Shaded by trees, though it can get cozy in high season.
Faka
If you're seeking solitude, Faka is your paradise. No beach bars, no crowds — just the sun, the sea, and the gentle sound of waves. Located to the northeast of the village, it's also a wonderful spot for fishing. Pure, undisturbed tranquility.
Drenia Islands
A cluster of tiny islets just off Ammouliani's east coast — Drenia, Feti, Penna, and Artemis. Accessible only by boat, they offer pristine shallow sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, and a beach bar on the main island. A must-do day trip for island hoppers.
